A SwissTransfer alternative, no upload.
Between your own devices, or with someone on the same Wi-Fi: the file goes straight across, stored nowhere. Receiver far away? Then keep SwissTransfer.
Free up to 10 GB of sending a month, no account. Other platforms
And on your phone? Scan this code, it opens the right store.
And on your computer?
The right tool for each send.
Your receiver is far away
SwissTransfer is free up to 50 GB, with no sign-up, and keeps your files in Switzerland for up to 30 days. To send far away with a link, keep it.
Your own devices, or someone nearby
From phone to computer, from one computer to another, to a colleague in the same office or on the same shoot: GreySpace sends direct, no upload, no link, no waiting twice.
Sending a file to a French public administration? Use France Transfert: it’s the government service built for that, and only for exchanges with the administration.
What the cloud makes you wait for
-
You wait twice
Upload to a server, then download on the other side: your connection works twice.
GreySpace does it in one step, straight from one device to the other, at the speed of your Wi-Fi.
-
Your files are stored
SwissTransfer keeps them in Switzerland for up to 30 days, grosfichiers on its servers in Switzerland and France.
GreySpace copies nothing anywhere: the file goes from your device to the other one, full stop.
-
Both sides need internet
No connection, no link: in a studio, on a shoot or at a trade show, you’re stuck.
GreySpace works on a local network with no internet, or on a phone’s hotspot.
Transfer services, side by side.

Wi-Fi drops? It picks up.
GreySpace retries on its own when the Wi-Fi drops for a few seconds, without resending what already arrived. Every file is checked on arrival.

Your local Wi-Fi is enough, or a hotspot between two devices
SwissTransfer is a service by Infomaniak. TransferNow, Smash, grosfichiers and France Transfert belong to their respective publishers. GreySpace is not affiliated with any of them.
Sending footage every week? Pro lifts the 10 GB monthly limit: €39.99 a year, that’s €3.33 a month.

SwissTransfer is free up to 50 GB, why switch?
To send far away, don’t: SwissTransfer does that job very well.
GreySpace is for when the other device is nearby or on the same network: your phone and your computer, two office computers, a shoot crew. There, no upload, no storage, no waiting twice.
What about France Transfert?
France Transfert is a French government service, only for exchanges between the administration and the public: it can’t be used to swap files between individuals. Up to 20 GB per send, 2 GB per file, kept 30 days by default (FAQ checked on 19 September 2026).
Is it really free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever: unlimited receiving, 10 GB of sending per month, full speed, no account. The day you hit 10 GB, the app even gives you 7 unlimited days, no card (except on iPhone and iPad).
If you send heavy files every day, Pro removes the sending limit: €5.99 per month, or €39.99 per year.
Are my files private?
Yes. They go directly from your device to the receiver’s, on your local network. No third-party server, even as a fallback: GreySpace never relays through the cloud.
No account on the Free plan, no usage tracking in the app, nothing collected. What moves between your devices stays between your devices.
Send anything. In one click.
